A brand photography session that is focused solely on tea? Sign. Me. Up. Working with Teasserie last year was a blast. And not just because I got to drink all of my props once the shoot was done. Teasserie is a Boston based purveyor of quality teas, specializing in single-source products. Not only are these teas good for you, they're good for the environment.

Teasserie founder Ania grew up with tea in Poland. For her, tea is so much more than a beverage; it is a vital part of life. From striking up conversations with new friends, to strengthening familial bonds, tea is woven into the fabric of living. As I am an American, I can only assume that Ania relates to tea the way I related to coffee. But for her, it is a part of living a balanced life. Whereas for me, coffee is an addictive morning pick-me up to clear out the cobwebs.

For this brand photography session, we wanted to highlight the ritual of tea: preparation, creation, appreciation. Throughout the session Ania brewed multiple teas, and let me tell you, the house smelled AMAZING. All of the teas were exceptional, but my personal favorite was No. 1, 18 Ruby, a black tea from Taiwan. The tea was full of flavor and body, and almost, almost, converted me to a tea drinker.

Teasserie boasts a healthy variety of teas, including greens, blacks, oolongs, matcha and whites. Turmeric Latte and Beetroot Latte mixes are also available, which are indeed as vibrant as the images below suggest. The Beetroot Latte was surprisingly good, considering I have never, ever opted for anything beet flavored in my life.

Thank you so much to Ania for inviting me into your home for this brand photography session. Learning about tea was delightful, and I have a greater appreciation for the complexity of these products.
